Rodo announces leave of absence

A lengthy and heated discussion broke out at Tuesday’s Undergraduate Student Association (USA) meeting after President Luigi Rodo announced he would be taking a leave of absence until the end of the Fall 2006 semester. This announcement came after allegations of financial impropriety were investigated by members of the executive board of the USA.

USA procedure inconsistent with constitution

The Undergraduate Student Association (USA) is charged with the responsibility of approving the constitutions of newly formed clubs and signing off on amendments that these clubs may make; however an investigation by The Griffin has revealed that the organization itself does not follow some of the procedures outlined in its own.

Wright plays for Canisius community

Last Sunday afternoon, the winner of the New York piano competition, Joshua Wright, played to members of the College community.
The performance, which lasted for almost two hours, contained several pieces, including works written by composers such as Frederic Chopin, Domenico Scarlatti, and Samuel Barber.

Rosen remarks on judiciary

The Raichle Pre-Law Center held its annual Raichle Pre-Law Lecture Series on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Dr. Peter Galie introduced the guest speaker, the programs 24th lecturer, Jeffery Rosen. Rosen is a distinguished legal commentator, an accomplished author and a professor of law at Georgetown University.

21 Oct. 2006 / 8:30 p.m. / Petite Larceny
Student reported that his windshield wipers were stolen off his car while it was parked in the Eastwood Lot.
23 Oct. 2006 / 5:00 a.m. / Suspicious Incident
A student’s mother reported that while asleep on the couch in her daughter’s Delevan Town house apartment, she heard pounding coming from the apartment next. Later she woke up and saw an arm reaching in the apartment door attempting to unlock the door. Public Safety officers checked the premises and found it to be secure.
23 Oct. 2006 / 11:30 p.m. / Suspicious Incident
A faculty member reported someone appeared to have been in her office while she away. Several items including her desk were moved, but nothing appeared missing at the time of the report.

Secrets, secrets are no fun

It takes a lot for the Editor in Chief and co-founder of The Courier to write an article for The Griffin, but what has happened to Luigi Rodo, easily the best advocate the Student Body has, is shameful and rotten to the core. As you probably know the President of the Undergraduate Student Association, Luigi Rodo, has been forced to step down from his position for the remainder of the semester. Only time will tell the wisdom and appropriateness of this action, but this is only the beginning of the story.
