Residents of Hamlin Park, the area surrounding Canisius, gathered together Saturday to attend a dinner sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Association (USA).
The dinner, held in the West Wing of the dining hall, is an annual event designed to show appreciation for Canisius’ neighbors.
Student representing the USA fliered the neighborhood in the weeks before the event to advertise.
Sixty five community members were served by representatives of the USA, and saw performances by Dance Griffs and G-Squad. WCCG, Canisius’ student-run radio station provided the music for the event. Food was catered by Chartwells.
The event was organized by the junior senators of the USA.
Junior Senator Benjamin Fabian said of the annual meal, “This dinner is a great opportunity for representatives of our school to give back to our neighbors.”
“The college only makes up half of this community and many students at times forget what a unique contribution the Hamlin Park District makes to our experience as students. It is important to embrace the community and our neighbors,” he added.
